Ribniki Opekarna

Ribniki Opekarna (The ponds near the brick factory) are located near Vrhnika, alongside the river Ljubljanica. They are of artificial origin, remains of the traditional brick factory, which dug the clay in this place. When the clay digging came to an end, the water started to accumulate and formed the ponds. The ponds are nowadays used for fishing. As part of Ljubljana marshes they are protected by the Natura 2000 iniciative.
